About me

Hi! Welcome, my name is Kate. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I graduated from Georgia State University with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling, and since then, I have been practicing in the field. I have worked in hospitals, inpatient units, schools, community settings, and private practice.

I believe therapy at its best can be a profound and life-changing experience. I think the fit between therapist and client is essential. I like to structure my therapy session collaboratively, and my approach stems from what the client is telling me. I want to listen to understand, to comprehend the world the client describes, and to truly see the individual with empathy, understanding, and warmth. When I am working with a client, I hope to foster an open, judgment-free environment, where we work to increase self-awareness and self-acceptance.

I have experience assisting clients in all stages of life, presenting numerous concerns. I have counseled adults, children, and adolescents. I have experience working with many issues, including but not limited to trauma, grief, stress, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and behavioral concerns. I also work with folks where things are going reasonably well, but they want to see if things could work even better.

I believe the healthcare field is moving to an individualized approach, and I conceptualize my counseling with a similar focus. I draw from several theoretical perspectives in my practice. I am particularly drawn to a holistic/eclectic approach, Solution- Focused, Person-centered, CBT, mindfulness-based CBT, emphasizing the mind-body connection, and I implore creativity whenever possible.

We only get to do this life once, let’s give it everything we can! Reach out if you have any questions, I am here and ready to work with you.

“We bring a deeper commitment to our happiness
when we fully understand, that our time left is
limited, and we really need to make it count.”

Truly one of the best therapists I've had in my time in mental health. Caring and helpful with guidance. Will miss her

Kathryn is an attentive and caring therapist. I worked with her for over two years and grew significantly during our time together. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her.

Love BetterHelp. Can’t recommend it enough. My mental health has improved tenfold since I started working with my therapist. Maybe even one hundred fold. It’s been a lot of fold.

Kathryn has been my sounding board and cheerleader over the past few months.
It’s been a rollercoaster and without Kathryn I’m not sure how I would have coped.
