Kathy Reynolds, LPC
About me
My name is Kathy Reynolds. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I attended Harding University and graduated with my B.A. in Psychology and my M.S. in Counseling. I have 23 years of experience in the mental health field. I primarily treat adults who are suffering from depression, anxiety, trama, PTSD, relationship issues, grief, bipolar disorder, and personality disorder. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Techniques to work with individuals. I also draw from various theories because every patient that I come in contact with is very different and it is important to look at the big picture in therapy and not just get tied down to one theory. I practice a great deal of Humanistic Theory, Systems Theory, DBT, Dr. Sue Johnson with couples, and Positive Psychology. I do believe that clients are inherently good and have the ability to change. I also specialize in working with domestic violence survivors and cancer survivors and their families. I believe that every client I treat deserves respect and has the ability to empower themselves to meet their individual life goals. I love what I do and I love every patient that I have the privilege of walking alongside.

She was very responsive and we had a few things in common that she could relate to with me. She would speak up if something was not of same opinion which I liked shows she is paying attention and not just in agreeable state.

Kathy is the most wonderful kind of person. She is the kind of person who inspires the best in someone; she makes me believe that I can be my best self. If you are reading this and you have any relationship struggles with a loved one, then Kathy can help. I promise.

I have been working with Kathy for quite a while now and can not say enough good things about her.
I have always resisted therapy and now I'm trying to finally get better. I approached the whole process with skeptism and was always looking for the holes in it. Slowly but surely I kept at it and in my time with Kathy we have worked through career issues, family issues, depression, anxiety and pretty much everything that was negative in my life befpre and now during this pandemic. When I am struggling with something in between sessions, I know I can always send her a message and, if she has the time to respond before our next sesssion, she will always give an objective, thoughtful, caring and gentle approach to any problems I might have. I have never felt she has applied personal bias to any situations or that she was simply just parroting back whatever she thought I wanted to hear or something that would just make me feel good at the time. It took a while for us to build a rapport, as does with all therapy- only now can I look back at my many months working with Kathy and see the positive effects she has had in my life: my thoughts cycles, my relationships, my self-isolation.
I know that if you are reading this review, you are doing so because you want to make a great choice for a therapist. It costs money and you want to be a smart consumer. Perhaps it's your first time reaching out for help or you just want to try it out and see what happens. I can't tell you that Kathy is the perfect fit for everyone, finding the right therapist is a personal process of it's own. What I can tell you is that you will find no other therapist better suited to help you begin that journey than Kathy Reynolds.
if it's only your first step, best to make it a good one right?
