Katie encouraged me to stand up for myself and not to accept poor and abusive behavior from others, a life-long struggle I've had. It was imperative for me to realize that I was worthy of more or I would have kept accepting less. It had impacted my son, who I love more than anything in this world, so I'm glad I was given the tools I needed to work through my hurt and be a good role model for my son on how to have boundaries and stand up for yourself when it's necessary to your own well being. My son is now at a child's therapist to start tackling some of the same struggles that I had - hopefully we can tackle them before he gets much older, so that it's second nature for him as an adult.

I have frequently recommended Katie to family and friends who were struggling to find a therapist they could connect well with. She's very accepting, understanding, and I feel I could bring her anything without her judging me or deciding I wasn't worth helping - which is also something I struggle with.

At first I was really skeptical just about therapy in general in the whole re-getting to know a therapist and telling them everything, but Katie made it very easy she’s very kind and understanding constantly reassuring me that I’m not crazy. Just makes it a very comfortable and not forced environment.

Written by E.M. on Jun 28, 2021 after counseling with Katie for 2 weeks on issues concerning grief, and parenting issues

Katie was the perfect match for me and my situation. I’m new to counseling and wasn’t sure what to expect, but I could not be happier with my experience. Katie has helped me process my grief, strengthen my marriage and become more of the parent I strive to be. On top of all this, it’s been so enjoyable I’d almost call it fun! Which seems strange to say since I sought her out for grief support, but I always look forward to her response. Katie is genuine, compassionate and highly skilled. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Katie is one of the only counselors I’ve met who is truly patient and very open minded! She will give you space to explain your issues and work with you wherever you’re at!

I can’t express how thankful I am to have been matched with Katie. She makes me feel understood, gives me space to express my emotions in a judgement free zone, and encourages me to challenge my harmful thoughts/behaviors. I feel I have made so much progress in the time we’ve worked together.

In these beyond challenging times, it is such a relief to know she is there to help guide me through it with expertise and boundless compassion.

Katie is great. She is responsive, and asks really great questions that have helped me explore things more deeply or from a different angle I hadn’t considered. She is also a mom and I appreciate that she “gets” the phase of life I am in and some of the struggles that come with parenting young children. Katie is genuinely helping me, she’s great.

Really enjoyed my time with her. I was skeptical about not having face to face interactions but it’s been one of the best counseling experiences I have had. I am so glad for this.

I've only had 2 sessions with Katie but find her very attentive, kind, supportive and insightful. I'm excited to work with her on this path of self-improvement. Grateful for BetterHelp and the tech-based service offered too, it's far more convenient for the modern lifestyle.
