Kavin Shah, LISW
About me
I am licensed independent social worker with 7 years of professional work experience.
While I have experience in helping clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, & depression in both community and private practice settings--I have found myself recently specializing in couples therapy work, specifically for those in LGBTQ+ relationships or those navigating open or non-monogamous relationships of any type.
I work with my couples to create an open and safe environment where respectful, safe, and honest communication are the focus, and all parties experience a sense that their thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment.
I prioritize helping relationship partners to identify, communicate, expand, and explore their proverbial 'comfort zones' in a way that creates and maintains a fertile enough soil for the love between partners to grow and flourish.
When needed, I also assist partners in identifying their key emotional needs, working through ambivalence, and making difficult assessments regarding what would make them able to be their best selves, all while holding space for the gray areas and unknowns that come with the incredible complexity our relationships naturally contain.
