Kay Bowman, BACP, NCPS
About me
Hi, my name is Kay.
Since 2016 I have been a self-employed mental wellbeing practitioner starting when I qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist. I went on to study various modalities of therapy including:
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT),
Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP),
Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) essential skills,
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and a degree in Integrative Counselling Practice.
My most recent study is a Masters in Trauma Informed Practice which was focused on working with the impact of childhood trauma, and how that influences relational attachment, psychosocial, emotional, and cognitive development, and implications for the individual across the lifespan.
Being an Integrative Counsellor, my work is underpinned by person-centred theory, however, I can challenge and be direct in my approach. I draw from several theoretical models, this enables me to tailor the sessions to your specific needs.
I have experience in helping clients with emotional regulation, anxiety and depression, self-esteem, self-worth, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, & parenting challenges.
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy takes courage, well done for getting started!
