About me

Hi, my name is Kay Miller and I am a licensed clinical social worker.
I have worked in the field of child protection and juvenile justice for twenty-four years, which has included working with children who have experienced the trauma of abuse or neglect, children and adolescents exhibiting sexually harmful behaviors, adolescents with oppositional behaviors, and children and families with mental health needs. For the past few years, I have worked with families who are ordered by the court system to be supervised while interacting with their children. While I am especially interested in working with young people who have exhibited sexually harmful behaviors, I also provide treatment to children, preteens, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing distress resulting from anxiety, anger, depression, complex-trauma, grief, co-parenting difficulties, and relationship struggles.
I see people for who they are, not the behaviors they have exhibited. Using a strengths-based and supportive approach, I work collaboratively with clients to better understand their inherent strengths, and to find opportunities for new ways of thinking and behaving in order to improve their quality of life. My goal is to create a safe environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. While I am a firm believer that treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), are important guides, I also believe that treatment must be tailored to meet client needs.

I welcome individuals, families, children and adolescents looking to improve the quality of their lives and realize a greater sense of overall well-being to contact me.

In my spare time, I am co-owner of a vintage clothing store and I enjoy hunting for treasures to present in the store. I am also a dog lover and have a 14-year-old dog named Ella, who I love spending time with.
