About me

Kayla began her professional career in veterinary medicine, where she dedicated more than a decade to caring for animals. Driven by a passion for both helping people and working with animals, she earned a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in animal-assisted therapy.

Since 2019, Kayla has been actively working in the mental health field. In addition to her expertise in animal-assisted therapy, she has extensive experience supporting individuals with behavioral and emotional needs in both school-based and outpatient settings. Her professional background includes work in group homes, alternative education programs, traditional schools, and community-based environments.

Drawing from experience across a variety of therapeutic settings and specialties, Kayla has developed a flexible, client-centered approach to counseling. She believes in tailoring therapeutic interventions to meet each individual’s unique needs and is committed to finding creative, effective strategies that foster growth and healing. Her experience spans the lifespan, from children and adolescents to older adults, and includes supporting clients facing a wide range of life challenges. Through her work in group homes and diverse community settings, she has also developed strong communication skills and the ability to adapt her approach to connect with clients from many different backgrounds.

Currently, Kayla is licensed to practice in Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada, with plans to expand her services to additional states in the future.

Kayla also works with an Integrative Healing: Therapy + Reiki professional that can also aid in your healing journey; ask about this in session.
