About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor currently licensed in Alabama with 5 years of professional experience as a licensed psychotherapist and 3 years as an Associate Licensed Counselor. I am a retired Military Veteran who has served for 22 years as a Licensed Professional Nurse. I have a vast experience working with military members and their families. As an Associate Licensed Counselor, I have worked with a variety of mental health issues to include: grief and loss, severe mental illness, and opioid addiction.

My counseling style is person centered. Generally the counselling style I use is cognitive behavioral and narrative therapy,. I believe in a team approach to therapy, in which the client has the lead and active role. I have committed the last five years of treating clients who would not otherwise be able to afford counseling services. I believe that every human being should be afforded the opportunity to receiving mental health support and treatment.

I encourage anyone who is seeking to improve their lives and circumstances to take the challenging step to call or write me. I am here to encourage you, not judge you and your experience. Take the step today to change your life!

I look forward to an opportunity to work with you to accomplish your goals!

Written on Jan 15, 2024 after therapy with Kelley for 10 months on issues concerning stress, anxiety, addictions, and self esteem

I have been working with Kelley for a couple of months now and words cannot describe how wonderful, thoughtful and encouraging she has been on my journey.

I had tried taken therapy in the past, but I often found that the exercises I would get didn’t really click for me, and I didn’t feel as comfortable to open up to them.

Kelley’s ability to truly listen and find exercises that feel more catered to what I need is an incredible gift. She has an incredible ability to make me feel safe, while also kindly hold me accountable for goals I am trying to achieve. She is also great at following up with me throughout the week and encourage me.

Thank you for everything you do Kelley!
