Hello! My name is Kelly and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Ohio with over six years of experience providing therapy services. I received both my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Masters of Social Work degree from Youngstown State University.
I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and outpatient care. I specialize in treating individuals struggling with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, self-harm, substance abuse disorders, complex trauma, relationship issues and more.
I am a trauma informed therapist trained in EMDR therapy. I take a client centered approach to therapy, believing fully that clients are the experts of their own lives and determine the direction of therapy. I practice from a strengths-based and solution-focused framework, drawing from several different modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching true crime documentaries, snuggling with my cats (Leif Erikson & Snickers) and traveling to new places.

Kelly is super nice and understanding.
She doesn't make you feel as if you are a bother, she tries to fully understand where you are coming from in angles that others may not.
She also tries to come up with solutions in more ways than just 'Plan A"

Kelly is the best at putting people at ease and letting them set the tone for therapy. She gives you room to express yourself and share ideas and experiences, but holds you accountable when needed. Kelly centers sessions around your goals, values, and solution-based approach where you never feel condescended to or overlooked.

Despite my disorganized rambles, Kelly is able to identify my main concerns. Kelly knows the right questions to ask to help guide me towards a solution. She is kind, patient and understanding. Most importantly, she makes me feel safe to discuss a variety of topics by maintaining a judgment-free zone. I am confident in her expertise and couldn't have asked for a better therapist.

As soon as I was connected with Kelly Joyce, I knew I had made choice in choosing her as my counselor. I picked her based off her expertise matching what I was hoping to work on/through & as soon as we were connected she began asking questions to get to know me & made me feel heard. Although we have not been paired long, Kelly has already made me feel comfortable & has created a space where I feel safe & able to talk about hard topics. Her communication is timely, thoughtful, & honest. Kelly has made me feel that I can make positive progress with her as my counselor & I look forward to future sessions!

I was super anxious about talking to a counselor since I’ve had a few before and they sadly didn’t work out, but Kelly made me feel so comfortable right off the bat! I’ve been able to open up so much and share everything that I’m struggling with in order to resolve the issues I have. She validates my feelings, is attentive, supportive, and presents me with solutions to help with my anxiety. I can’t recommend her enough!

Kelly Joyce is the most committed counselor I have met, and I meet counselors in my career. I'm not sure how she is able to respond so quickly, but I am grateful for her dedication. She is clear, concise, and compassionate while listening with intent. Excellent counselor. Open-ended questions and appropriate feedback.

I am so thankful I found Kelly! I first matched with a therapist that I didn't vibe with, but Kelly has been exactly what I need. Kelly is supportive, asks me thought provoking questions, and provides me resources and guidance. But most of all, she gets me, and it feels nice to finally be heard and (virtually) seen.
