I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor with board certification in the state of North Carolina, where I have practiced eight years, collaborating with individuals and their loved ones to improve communication, relationships, and overall quality of life. I received my master of science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology from the University of North Carolina. I am involved in research on holistic healthcare and have co-authored articles exploring therapy treatments for individuals diagnosed with cancer and depression. I am also a certified BodyFlow (yoga/tai chi/pilates) instructor and am interested in helping you develop healthy habits, both physically and mentally.
I take a humanistic approach in the therapeutic alliance, as I believe all individuals--with the right environment and supports--are capable of actualizing their goals and progressing toward a meaningful life. My aim is to empower you and provide you with tools for building the confidence and motivation necessary to achieve goals that are congruent with your wants and values. Through the use of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, we will work together to recognize and target life stressors that may be contributing to disruptive feelings, including anxiety, depression, isolation, amotivation, inability to focus, etc.
The first steps toward change can be the hardest part of the process. I look forward to working with you as we explore your story and discover your strengths, creating a present that reflects your truest self.

Kelly is an outstanding counselor. She thinks holistically about her clients and how all aspects of their life come to bear on a problem, even if the problem you're working to address is a specific behavior. This has been super valuable for me, and I can't imagine getting paired with a stronger counselor. I highly recommend Kelly!
I have been working with Kelly for about four months now, and I have felt so grateful to be matched with her since day one. Truth be told, I haven’t really “clicked” with therapists or counselors in the past, but Kelly is super relatable and really fully commits her time and energy to her clients. She is very easily approachable and has a gentle yet no-nonsense way of challenging my deep-seated beliefs about how life, love, and relationships “should” be. She has continuously helped me to work through messy emotions and anxious thoughts with great care and patience. Because of her, I have found it possible to practice acceptance and awareness and to embrace the here and now. Whereas, before, I was adamant that I knew exactly what my future self would need, and I had a very hard time focusing on the needs of my “now self”. I still have a lot of work to do in this area, but I've made some pretty huge strides with Kelly's help! Also, she has a great sense of humor and a talent for manifesting unexpected “a-ha!” moments even when all I could see before was disorganized chaos and uncertainty. I thought that I was at least moderately self-aware before starting therapy with Kelly, but she has really helped me to realize that if I replace judgment with curiosity, there will always be new things to learn and love about myself.
I appreciate Kelly's willingness to go at my pace and to try lots of different things to find what works best for me.
When I first started my sessions with Kelly, I felt lost and depressed. Kelly has helped me a lot and I don’t feel depressed anymore. She helped to realise many things and to learn about myself. She is an amazing psychologist!
When I first joined BetterHelp, I was in the midst of a crisis. I am so thankful that I was matched with Kelly because my sessions with her have been paramount in moving through the issues I have experienced. Kelly makes me feel cared for as a human being, and not just simply a client to be addressed. She's simply amazing and I recommend her highly!
I have only had a few sessions with Kelly, but I can say that I feel very comfortable and acknowledged for everything we discuss. She is able to provide me with some great advice and a new perspective to things I may not have thought of. It has helped me a lot in being able to express my thoughts about what I am going through and have someone understand me.
Kelly has been an amazing counselor! She provided me with the safe space I needed to come and work through my anxieties while leading me on a journey of self-discovery and coping mechanisms I had never been able to gain before. My time spent in counseling has been worth every bit of time and money spent thanks to Kelly's willingness to work with me to figure out what worked best and how to implement it into my life. I would 100% recommend Kelly to anyone seeking to improve their mental state!
I am thankful to have Kelly in my life as she is a good listener, knows how to say what I’m thinking but can’t explain and gives helpful and useful guidance. She always puts herself fully into our sessions and is dedicated to our time together. I really look forward to our sessions and feel our relationship is getting stronger and more meaningful as time continues. Thanks for everything Kelly!
I’ve only met with Kelly a handful of times, but already she’s helped me in a huge way. Most importantly, she empowers me to help myself. She’s incredibly smart and intuitive, and she seems to know the most helpful things to say. She is helping me train myself to have more positive self-talk, and it’s so nice having her in my corner. I know she’s holding me accountable! I would HIGHLY recommend Kelly to anyone. She’s the best!
It has been incredible speaking with Kelly. Not only does she have the skills and knowledge to help you, you can tell she enjoys what she does. She listens well and seems to understand what you are feeling before you even verbally express it. Not to mention she does everything she can so you get the most out of your experience on BetterHelp, whether it be working around tough schedules or making sure you get all of your appointments met.
Kelly is amazing. Ever since I started my sessions with her, she has been very respectful, understanding. totally open-minded to anything I talk about, and a great motivator. She also knows how to add jokes and puns when appropriate, of course, in order to lighten the mood. She has helped me evaluate things about myself that I didn't think needed evaluating, and I can tell that her help is pushing me towards positive change. Kelly is a great counselor to work with and has great techniques up her sleeve. I highly recommend her!
