About me

Hello! My name is Kenny and I am a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor. I have over 9 years of experience providing mental health services in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: non-profit community agencies, private businesses, public schools, juvenile and adult probation departments, and residential treatment centers. In these settings I have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of adolescents and adults (and their families) in addressing challenges associated with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use and other mental health diagnoses.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I continued my education at UTSA and received my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling.

I use a person centered approach focused on promoting self-awareness, self-regulation, self-acceptance, and self-reliance. My goal is to support you as you become your best self. Although self-improvement may be challenging and uncomfortable at times, I do my best to make it an enjoyable experience. Therapy can be fun, exciting and something to look forward to. I use a variety of cognitive behavioral strategies to help manage problem situations, negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy football, basketball, running, golfing, and any other activity that allows me to be active and spend time outdoors. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, most of which is spent with my wife and bulldog (Chubby).
