Kentaya Nielly

(MS, LMHC)

About Me

I have a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of North Carolina. Since I was young, I’ve always known that counseling others is my passion. I have worked with various populations including those who have faced serious and significant trauma, those recovering from substance dependence, as well as individuals who simply wanted to achieve or maintain optimal mental wellness. I believe that we all hold the keys to our destinies inside of us and often simply need a bit of guidance in unlocking those destinies to reach our ultimate potential.

My therapeutic approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I believe that the therapeutic process is collaborative in nature and is only beneficial when you have the opportunity to establish the goals that are important to you. By establishing the goals that are most important to you, we can work together to determine the best course of action in achieving those goals. Most of the work in therapy often happens outside of the confines of the session; it’s my desire to equip you with the tools that you need so that you can do the work.

I am here to you develop insight and improve those areas of your life that you are struggling. I believe that one of the most important aspects of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between you and I. It is unlike any other relationship in our lives because it is a place that we can truly be free to express ourselves with no fear of judgment. I am a person committed to maintaining the integrity of that relationship. I often tell my clients that I am going to guide you in the best way that I know how while also holding you accountable for being responsible for your healing; you are the master of your life.

I am excited to work with you!

Everything that you need will be given to you when the time is right. Trust in the timing of all that you are.

I’ve had 2 sessions with Kentaya and she’s been great so far! She makes me think about things on a deeper level. She’s very easy to talk to and I’m so glad I was matched with her and excited about continuing with her.

I really enjoyed my time with Kentaya. Personally, I’ve decided to pursue in-person counselling but my experience with her was really wonderful and I was very happy with the work we did together.

After having one meeting with Kentaya I could see how compassionate and understanding she is of others and their situations. It’s like sitting down with a good friend and simply being open and honest about what I’m thinking and feeling, no judgement at all. I would definitely recommend her to others who love good human interaction.

I have had a wonderful experience with Betterhelp, especially because of my counselor, Kentaya Nielly, with whom I had an immediate rapport. I felt “heard”, and there was empathy and a genuine warmth from her, even with online texts, and especially phone calls.
Therapy was a gift from my eldest daughter while I had hip surgery, and recuperated., which they nursed me through! It has been an intense time of physical/emotional healing, and they wanted to share Betterhelp with me because it has helped them so much. I am so grateful to Kentaya for her calm caring , and for the freedom to release a lifetime of experiences. At 67, I am going through many physical changes and challenges, especially the “Empty Nest Syndrome”. I strongly urge anyone who needs someone to listen, to consider Betterhelp. Again, many thanks to Kentaya Nielly for her dedication and patience, beyond just being professional. She is truly “gifted” with wisdom and kindness, which is so desperately needed in our world. Thank you.

She’s walked me through a lot of issues and fears I’ve been facing; and respectively holds me accountable for the goals I set for myself by reminding me of the benefits of working toward those goals. I was seemingly half the person I am today before I started therapy with her.

She’s been one of my best and most reliable supporters. I can tell her anything and she never judges me. She’s helped me overcome some of my insecurities within myself. It’s a long process but I know that I will be able to achieve my goals with her on my side.

Kentaya has been amazing so far! She emphasizes with me and can understand how hard I’m trying even when I can’t always control my racing thoughts. She always reminds me that it’s okay to put myself first even though I’m a caregiver to my girlfriend. She gives me homework every time to help improve my life as well as getting me to do the things I need for myself. It’s always nice getting to talk to her whether it’s scheduled video sessions or me just messaging when I’m going through something that I need to get out and talk about. I would highly recommend her. She is an amazing therapist and human being!!
