About me

I am licensed in Michigan and Colorado and have been in professional practice for over 10 years. I have experience in a variety of mental health settings - including community mental health, large universities, and my own private practice - and use the specialized skills I acquired in each to offer the best possible service to my clients.

In my therapy practice, I help people who struggle with a wide range of mental health challenges to make meaningful changes in their lives. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and unresolved trauma and work closely with my clients to overcome issues like anger, shame and quilt and improve their self-confidence. I also have significant experience in career counseling and executive coaching and help my clients pursue employment that aligns with their interests, goals and values so they feel fulfilled and truly achieve job satisfaction.

I am highly focused on creating a therapeutic environment that prioritizes quality and cutting-edge care for my clients. I am trained in numerous evidenced-based treatments – such as cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy, and various trauma-focused approaches - and use the most appropriate aspects of these treatments to best meet the unique needs of each client. Providing a safe space in which my clients can freely explore and process their thoughts, feelings and emotions is also a critical component of my practice. In all cases, I adopt a client-centered approach to care, which means that you are the expert of your story and have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming the challenges you face. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

I began my career as an attorney, working for several large law firms and Fortune 500 companies in Chicago and Detroit. After 20 years in the legal field, I realized my true passion was working with people to help them improve their lives. Much to everyone’s surprise, I left the practice of law and returned to school to earn my Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. I truly believe that I finally found my true calling and have never looked back!
