About Me

As a therapist, I see my role as a collaborative facilitator of change. I seek to join with clients in a respectful way that acknowledges their own wisdom through practical, supportive, and empathetic connections. My therapeutic work is done through a systemic lens that allows me to confront issues of oppression like classism, sexism, and racism. I use psychodynamic theories (internal processes that inform how we think, feel and act) as well as systemic theories (the interaction of who we are and our environments) in my work in bringing about personal agency and self-fulfillment. My counseling style can be spontaneous and intuitive to meet the needs of my clients, and in many cases, I use narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy as well as mindfulness practices.

I haven’t worked with Kierra a whole lot yet but I’m very pleased with the help I do get from her. She’s willing to listen and be there for me without making me feel awkward. I’m introverted so sometimes it takes me awhile to know what to say. I really like how patient Kierra is.
