About me

As a therapist, I see my role as a collaborative facilitator of change. I seek to join with clients in a respectful way that acknowledges their own wisdom through practical, supportive, and empathetic connections. My therapeutic work is done through a systemic lens that allows me to confront issues of oppression like classism, sexism, and racism. I use psychodynamic theories (internal processes that inform how we think, feel and act) as well as systemic theories (the interaction of who we are and our environments) in my work in bringing about personal agency and self-fulfillment. My counseling style can be spontaneous and intuitive to meet the needs of my clients, and in many cases, I use narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy as well as mindfulness practices.

Kiera has been great. She was the force to help me through when way too much was going on in my life for me to understand. She always gives me ideas of things to try and gets me to think not only of a situation but everyone's part in any given situation so I also can hold myself accountable when needed. She is very polite, and respectful . She is good ant what she does and I am happy I ended up with her for my Therapist

I’ve had two seasons with Kierra and I’ve appreciated the compassionate, safe space that she creates. I am continuing to work with her as I learn how to better handle emotions and triggers.

Before joining Better Help I was scared to start the process to find a therapist I felt comfortable with and connected with. Once I took the step to join, I was matched with Kierra. On our first call, Kierra was welcoming and quick to show empathy for how I was feeling. She listened while I described what I wanted to talk through while also asking important questions to help find the main themes of what brought me to better help. Each session I walk away with more tools to help me with my anxiety but more than that, I walk away with hope. I truly believe I can manage my anxiety which was not the case before Kierra. I cannot be more thankful than to have started this journey but even more thankful that Kierra has been the best guide through my anxiety management.

Keirra is an amazing listener and when she gives input it's always very thoughtful and worth hearing. Even just talking to her has been helping me, but she has also helped with excercises and questions that help me sort my thoughts out.

Kierra is really great at reminding me to not overwhelm myself while still moving myself forward. She supports and sends examples of ways that can help me be better focused and less negative about my situation or myself. I really appreciate being connected to Kierra.
