About me

Hello! I'm Kim Ferren and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years experience, licensed in the state of Texas. I have a Master's in Counseling and have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I've worked in the clinical setting, in private practice, and in the in-patient hospital setting.

My therapeutic approach can best be described as client-focused, with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and family systems. It's important to me to provide a calm and safe environment where you know you will be listened to and not judged. The client/therapist relationship is a key component in successful therapy, so I strive to establish a good rapport, then we will work as a team to establish goals and move forward.

Life presents many challenges, most of which we can confidently deal with; but there are times when we get stuck, or we've been deeply wounded, and we just don't know what to do. Asking for help is a great first step in finding your way through the tough moments.

After a year’s worth of sessions with Kim, I can wholeheartedly say that she genuinely listens and everything she says comes from the heart. I always looked forward to our sessions because she truly became a safe space and has given me a useful “toolkit” to easily navigate relationships in my life. Her advice always gave me a fresh, relieving new insight to every situation and I always felt a weight lifted off my head whenever she’d provide her solution-based therapy which I value so much. To top it off, she’s a lovely and easy person to talk to about absolutely anything.

Kim is wonderful. She listens and pays attention to what it is I share. Encourages communication and is so patience when it comes to processing what has been shared. The support and compassion she offers is genuine, which makes it easy to open up and be honest. Even more so, not once has she made me insecure about sharing my-experiences. I feel listened to, supported and cared for genuinely. I am grateful to have been paired with her. I hope she continues to help others as she helps me.
