Specialties: anxiety,OCD, educating parents and teachers, marital issues, family issues and self-confidence issues
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and Type 73 certified educator for the state of Illinois. I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life. I have worked as a therapist in a private practice counseling children, adolescents and adults. I specialize in working with issues as they relate to anxiety, relationships, divorce, self esteem issues and family conflicts. I also have experience as a Parent Educator and have worked as an Educational Coordinator for the Chicago Home and Aid foster care agency.
In addition to the private practice, I have worked for the past three years in a school setting working with parents of pre-K to 8th graders focusing on social skills, anxiety, life transitions and coping with everyday life stressors.
I like to work from a strengths perspective and believe in a systematic approach. The most important part of the therapeutic process is the client/therapist connection. I do believe therapy can not work unless there is a genuine connection with my clients. I also use cognitive behavior therapy as well as solution focused and conflict resolution therapy.
I'm extremely passionate about providing the tools necessary to get my clients through life’s difficulties. I make sure that all of my clients know that their ideas, feelings and opinions are valid and important. I whole-heartedly believe the client is the expert of their own life and I am looking forward to creating relationships that allow you to be part of the collaborative process while improving the quality of your life.
