About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Alabama, and I have over 15 years of experience working with people dealing with mental and behavioral health issues. I have worked with diverse populations in various treatment settings, to include: crisis stabilization, inpatient psychiatric and detox, residential, re-entry correctional facilities, out patient and independent contract settings. My approach is always non-judgmental, compassionate, direct, solution-focused, and client centered. You are the expert in your life and the writer of your own story. I am here to share my knowledge and skills that i have learned over the years that can help you with living the life that you desire.

By using combinations of various techniques from a vast array of theories and methodologies, both traditional and holistic, in nature, we can discover what works best for you. We will work to identify specific skills, practices, strengths, and resources that will: provide symptom relief, improve daily coping, and help to create a strong foundation that will allow you to safely work on any areas of desired change.
I emphatically believe that, we as humans beings do the very best that we can do at any given time, by using the skills and resources that we have available to us at that time. On this life journey, we often encounter situations that do not respond well to our current skill sets, or ways of coping. We must learn new skills, new behaviors, and new ways of coping, so that we can continue our journey and live the quality of life that we desire.

I commend you for reaching out and asking for help, as I know it's not always easy to do so. Thank you for entrusting me with the details of your personal story, and for giving me the opportunity to work with you at this point on your journey. I am committed to empower others with the self determination needed to create the positive changes desired!

I was matched with Kim after moving to Alabama and seeking support for the loss of my dad, and I truly couldn’t have found a better fit. She is incredibly understanding and compassionate, and from the very beginning she made me feel seen and heard in a way that really mattered during such a difficult time. She’s an amazing listener. Not just hearing me, but really understanding me. She offers practical, helpful tools that I can actually use in my day-to-day life. What stands out most is how genuine she is. She’s warm, real, and easy to talk to, which made opening up feel a lot less intimidating. I’m really grateful to have been matched with her and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who truly cares.

Kim is closely aligned with my needs and understands how to assist and support me better than most people than have known me my entire life. She offers multiple approaches and expands on what works. Kim is down to earth, comfortable to talk to, and accommodating. It is refreshing to be matched with a therapist that is a perfect fit so quickly.

I love my therapist, I used to hate therapy. I can tell her things I never felt comfortable telling even my closest family.

I've had Kim as my CBT counselor for close to a year now and she is very meticulous to the problems that arise and how I can be proactive about them and how to help myself better overall. I highly recommend her and appreciate her patience.
