About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist currently in private practice for 10 years in Kansas including telehealth services. I have 23 years of clinical experience assessing, diagnosing and treating individuals, couples, and families. And I have an additional 17 years as a professional serving in a variety of ways in my community. My approach with clients is to enhance their own strengths and help build resilience within their own framework for change using the client's personal beliefs, values, growth, life experiences, along with my clinical (or faith based if desired) efforts according to the client's own personal preferences. I am of the Christian faith, yet I am sensitive, understanding of other faith practices to give support in those areas identified by clients.

Some of my work recently has been in the area of trauma healing, grief and loss and psycho-education and basic awareness using the Polyvagal Theory. This approach along with my direct, yet friendly, personal engagement style builds rapport which is at the core of the therapeutic relationship. Ultimately, my goal is to offer support & resources in order to facilitate healthy change toward a happy and healthier balanced life!

I would like to encourage you after reading this profile to take the next step toward your personal growth and create a new journey for yourself with changes on the horizon and a better outlook on life. There are several options on this platform to converse from live chat, phone, or video or just using the message feature all available at your convenience or upon request. Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kimberly Norwood. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Kimberly Norwood listened to my concerns and offered many different ways that might help. Most often she would give guidance and support on working through the issue as it happened, managing it for future episodes, comparing other views and strategies for a better understanding, finding acceptance, or discussing solution based things to try and solve the issue. She guided me in ways that let me feel comfortable and in charge of how my sessions went even when discussing particularly difficult topics. She also follows up with you consistently between sessions which allowed me to stay self-aware more often and let me keep track of my progress. At times she would draw from her own personal experiences which helped me visualize and feel less alone. At no point did I feel pushed, unheard, or unimportant while she skillfully kept me on track with the conversation. Kimberly Norwood is a kind, caring, and intuitive person and that comes through in her personal style of therapy. I would happily recommend her to anyone at any stage in their Mental Health Journey.

Kimberly is an amazing listener! She provides GREAT advice and sometimes compares your situations to her life and how she got passed a situation or moved through it. I say sometimes because every time she compares her situations she apologizes to compare because she knows it’s about you and your situation but she likes to share how she got through it and offer advice on how she did or ideas on how you can based on her experience. Highly recommend her!

Kimberly had been absolutely great. She listens well and does whatever she can to accommodate my schedule even if it’s not within her normal hours. I truly appreciate her and what she’s done for me so far and would recommend her to anyone

Kimberly is amazing! She is smart, kind, and able to help me navigate life problems and past traumas. Doing video chats has helped my boyfriend see what counseling is like, and he has agreed to start his own journey; that is something I wouldn't have been able to get him to do without Kimberly being the incredible therapist she is!
