Biography: My name is Kimberly Taylor and I have 10 years working as a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I graduated in 2008 with a Master of Arts Degree in Mental Health, School Counseling and Substance Use Counseling from Wayne State University. I specialize in working with Depression, Anxiety, Codependency, Women’s Issues, Pre-teens, Adolescents, Victims of Domestic Violence, Identity, Spirituality and Life Transitions. I create a tailored experience and counsel from multiple theoretical frameworks. These techniques include: Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, Trauma-Focused Therapy. I am also adept at Holistic counseling, which is blending Mind, Body and Spirit techniques with traditional therapeutic approaches. I am a well-rounded practitioner, in that I have counseled in a variety of settings, such as: community mental health; substance use facilities; schools; Spanish-speaking agencies; refugee shelters; integrative health clinics and private practice. In addition, my background as a K-12 school counselor allows me to relate to the needs of Pre-Teens and Adolescents. What makes me unique as a counselor is the perspective I have gained as a “wounded healer.” It is my desire to share the wisdom from overcoming my own early life struggles to uplift others. In my practice I strive to give my clients the type of experience that I would want, such as being truly heard; not feeling judged and feeling accepted regardless of race, sexuality or religion. It is also a part of my mission to unmask the stigma of mental health in our country and make treatment more accessible ALL PEOPLE.

I have struggled with finding the right counsellors and psychologists for years. Kimberly Taylor is such an amazing and supportive counsellor who strives to provide the best therapy. I highly recommend Kimberly to anyone who is dealing with grief and loss, abandonment and anxiety disorders. Get ready to grow and achieve all your therapy goals because even though I haven't fully healed...I definitely have hope.

Kimberly upholds a balance of truth, kindness, compassion and drive. She will comfort you while allowing movement for growth throughout every meditation. Every session she provides a safe environment therefore it was easy to trust Kimberly.

Thankyou Kimberly, it has been a long time since I've found a counsellor like you.

Wonderful therapist, she helped me to find the best ways to go about my anxiety and past trauma and continues to change up our routine if we both agree that there might be a better way. Her schedule fits in great with mine and I always end the session feeling determined and empowered to remain proactive in resolving my issues. Having her support and knowledge by my side has truly been such a weight off my shoulders, I don't feel alone with my problems, she's there to help in every way she can.

I've only had 2 sessions with Kimberly and I'm already feeling a lot more confident this time that therapy is going to help me. She is really great. From the start, Kimberly has been very understanding and open about conversations relating to race, gender and how it applies to careers and mental health these days. I'm grateful to have received some very timely advice.

Kimberly is sweet, considerate, and very thoughtful. She posts encouraging comments throughout the week, and she's helped me improve my DBT skills during our sessions. Having her support me has increased my accountability and made me feel more able to power through the day.

I felt very comfortable with Kimberly during my first session. It was easy for me to tell her what’s been going on with my ongoing struggles and I felt after a few sessions she truly had a great understanding of what I was going through and made me realize a lot of ways I could adjust my mindset to better my life. I feel like my feelings and beliefs are valid when I talk to Kimberly and she helps me push myself to be a better person.

Kimberly has been great and listened closely to me from the start so that we could establish our goals ahead. Each week she helps me work through some difficult family issues and is teaching me a lot. All of my specific topics and needs are communicated in our sessions which means the guidance is tailor made to suit me. I appreciate Kimberly and will keep working with her for as long is the process takes.

Kimberly Taylor, understood where I was coming from in her first message to me. I’ve never done therapy before and I’m glad my first time was with miss Taylor. She’s a great listener and has been able to decipher what I was trying to say when I broke down. I was intimidated at first about therapy and talking about my private affairs but she never made me feel uncomfortable, and In the short time I’ve been speaking with miss Kim I think she can help me further in understanding myself and my behavior. I can only say that I’m glad I decided to use BetterHelp because of my new experience with Miss Kimberly Taylor .

I can’t say enough good things about talking with her and where to start. I never felt understood so fast before. I’ve had therapists in person in the past and felt like after a year of therapy it felt like they really didn’t get to know me very well and I was trying to communicate better to fix that feeling but with Kimberly it was instant with feeling understood and seen on levels I wasn’t used to aside from like a few other people in my life that know me well. So for the advice and knowledge it was extremely relevant and helpful and I was able to take what she told me and put it in my life so much easier just because it truly related. I haven’t had that experience yet with therapy so I was so excited to find her, I’d highly recommend her.
