About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I have 29 years of experience working in the human services field, with the past 11 yrs providing clinical counseling. My career path has been in a variety of settings that has exposed me to diverse individuals and experiences. This is one of my greatest assets as a clinician. It has provided experiences working with those affected by depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem, and other challenges.

I recognize it takes a lot of courage to make that first step to make changes in your life. Let me commend you on your insight and self-awareness. The unknown can be scary and change can definitely be uncomfortable. I am committed to being here to support you in this process and provide a welcoming, positive experience.

My approach to therapy involves helping you to identify strengths within yourself while developing skills and strategies to make better choices and improve your quality of life. I have an eclectic approach in that I use several counseling modalities some of which include cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy among others. I recognize you as an individual and we will work together to determine what's better for you.

I look forward to us working together and it is my hope you will arrive at a place that brings you happiness in all areas of your life!

Kim has been a truly influential resource in my life. This year has been hard on everyone, and I needed support to sort through my feelings and actions. Kim always shows up ready to dive in. She provides actionable perspectives, she follows up with helpful inspirational information between appointments, and celebrates my progress. I have grown a lot in my short time working with her. Couldn't recommend working with Kim more.

Kimberly is a fantastic therapist. It's usually difficult to find someone who you can feel comfortable with and that clicks all the right boxes for you. I felt that Kimberly was a great match for me; she was patient, understanding, kind, and a little pushy which was great since I could not be bothered to do worksheets and stuff. I'm glad that it was her who helped me through a rough patch :D

Kimberly offered a kind, non-judgemental style of therapy. I could tell immediately that she was confident and experienced. She offered advice and asked questions that helped me see myself in a different way. For such a short time, she did so much. The daily messaging capability made me feel like someone was always there and the written literature she sent was on subject and very helpful.
