Hi! Thanks for stopping by. Just by clicking on my page you have taken the first step toward making change, regardless if I am the right fit for you or not. You are not alone on your journey and help is just a few more clicks away.
My name is Dr. Kimberly Zammitt (please call me Kim). I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and practice in Minnesota. I have twenty+ years of clinical social work practice experience. I say that therapists are like shoes, you need to find the right fit and style of shoes for your needs. Here's just a little bit about me that may help you decide if we might be a good fit~
In my clinical practice, I combined both Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Techniques. I maintain a culturally responsive, strengths-based approach in my work. I value collaboration and believe that trust and safety is the cornerstone of quality therapy. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples. I have worked with people from differing cultures and with diverse ideas about parenting, religion, sexuality, gender identity, marriage and love.
Education & Training:
I earned my Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern Mississippi and a PhD in social work from Jackson State University. I have completed advanced training in emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for use with couples and families. I also completed a certification in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute in Boston, MA and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Profession Level II (CCTP-II): Complex Trauma from the International Association of Trauma Professionals. Dr. Zammitt is attentive, caring, and empathetic. She listens well, makes sure I am heard, and provides me with both reassurances and criticisms to help my situation. I have enjoyed the homework and outside opportunities to take my therapy beyond the sessions. I would highly recommend Dr Zammitt.
