About me
Kory Wilson: LCMHC, MCOUN, Idaho State University
Personal Approach:
I enjoy helping people reach their potential by using an integrative therapy approach: Client-Centered, Gestalt and Cognitive therapy to help people heal, take personal responsibility and overcome thinking errors. I work to build a relationship with clients so they will be more receptive to learning better coping skills. I believe all people have innate and developed strengths. They only need help to uncover and focus their strengths in a positive direction. I encourage people to quiet their thoughts, focus on their strengths and become more aware of their maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. My favorite quote is “You can do hard things.” Each one of us is capable of doing hard things and overcoming obstacles in our lives.
Personal Interests:
I enjoy reading. I find it rejuvenating, introspective and meaningful. My two favorite books are “Mindset: The New Psychology of Success” by Carol S. Dweck and “The Happiness Advantage” by Shawn Achor. These books have helped me move past challenges, find continued personal growth and live a happier and more meaningful life.
I enjoy exercising and spending time outdoors. I believe we need to take care of our physical health in order to maintain our mental health. My approach to exercise is very simple, “be consistent”. It is the steady tortoise that wins the race. I find a simple 20 to 30 minute exercise is a great way for me to boost my energy and create a healthier me.
I love to spend time with my family. I have one girl and two boys. They have endless energy and keep me active. We enjoy spending time at the park, going camping and taking trips to the beach. We have two dogs. Tilly Bug is a chihuahua and Gucci is a chihuahua mix. They don’t play fetch, but they are fun to take on walks!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kory Wilson. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Kory was empathetic, reasonable, and—in my opinion—doing everything a therapist could be doing, despite the relatively short nature of our time working together (COVID, et. al., 2020). I recommend him without reservation

He's very professional, and really what I've needed is a good listener and he's gilled that position for me perfectly.
