Counseling is a side by side journey of exploration and imagination. As a counselor licensed in both the state of Washington and Oregon, I am trained, experienced, and ready to accompany you on your journey. Many people seek counseling at a time when life is troubled. It can help to have support as you figure out your path, unearth your deepest dreams, and create the life you want to live.
I graduated with a BA in Psychology from Gonzaga University, and following that, explored teaching, group leadership, crisis stabilization, and domestic violence advocacy. Earning my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University was a life dream, and for the past eight years, I have worked as a mental health counselor. I have experience working with people who struggle with mood concerns, anxiety and stress, dealing with a traumatic event in their past, and life transitions. Working with health behaviors is my specialty, and I have extensive training and experience in helping people engage in changing their behaviors around sleep, persistent pain, substance concerns, exercise, and relaxation. My style is warm and will help you to see the strengths you bring into the counseling relationship, and will help you to build on them to thrive in your health, relationships, and career. I draw from Psychodynamic, Attachment, Rogerian, and behavioral theories to work holistically and to develop a truly individualized approach.
If you would like to make changes in your life but feel unsure where to start, I am happy to explore where you are now, the direction you want to go, and to help you to move in that direction.

I've been working with Kris for a couple of weeks now and I really appreciate having her expertise.
I decided to start therapy in an especially stressful time that was serving as the punctuation of a terrible year. BetterHelp matched me with Kris within just a few hours, and she stepped right in to helping me process what I was going through. Since then we've been working on untangling the other issues that had been building up.
One thing I really appreciate about Kris is that she is well-read and always has book recommendations! I'm an avid reader myself, so I like having more resources to turn to in order to address what I'm working on, or just to dive more into an interest we've touched on.
Kris communicates very clearly, offers good suggestions, and provides a nice combination of drawing things out of me while not pushing too hard. I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts and concerns with her.
I came to Betterhelp because I needed a positive way of dealing with what is going on in my life. I have only been using this for a little while, however it has definitely helped me in the fact that she listens and challenges me to look at things from a different perspective in which channels my thoughts more positively. Online counseling has been easiest for me than talking to a person face to face. Kris responds quickly and even checks in when she has not heard from me. I feel comfortable talking to her about everything and do not feel judged.
Kris has been nothing short of amazing. She's not only extremely timely, but incredibly thorough. We have done a phone chat and she is a great listener. She offers alternative ways of thinking that I'm too blinded by everything going on to see. She really is great at what she does and I'm so thankful that I was matched with her!
I feel blessed to have been paired with Kris. She is absolutely amazing and in the short span of two months, she has helped me tremendously with my anxiety and depression. She provides this safe space where I get to vocalize everything I normally internalize and she provides insight and understanding like no one I have ever had the opportunity of opening up to. I am thankful for our conversations and I look forward to learning more about myself with her help.
Kris is really supportive and insightful. She helped me get to the heart of the matter. I felt so discouraged before I talked to her and within a few interactions, I was lifted out of the fog of depression and could see more clearly. Thank you!
Kris is super helpful. She has helped me quickly work through some big emotional stressors and is very good at asking leading questions that help me think through things. I feel very safe talking to her. My only complaint is that her tissue supply is not big enough ;)
Kris is responsive and brings different opinions into the conversation.
Kris is really nice and caring. Even when I was super busy, Kris regularly checked back on me and made sure that I was doing okay. She's also really knowledgeable and passionate in helping me
Kris is really awesome: she's provided me with a wealth of ideas and tools to help work through what I'm going through. From gratitude exercises to mindfulness "reset buttons" I can use, she has walked me through a lot of really specific and also personality applicable ideas for ways to get my brain on track and reduce my depressive behavior from taking over. If you're suffering with depression, anxiety, or really just hope for someone warm and understanding to message with you promptly (often within an hour or so at normal hours) I really think Kris can help you, as she has been helping me!
Kris has been amazing at helping me recognize that my anxiety doesn't have to stop me from living my life. She listens thoroughly and has a great way of shedding light on not so obvious issues to give it clearer perspective.
Kris has been very helpful and gets back to me very quick.
Kris is really great. She is very open and accepting. I have been able to share many things with her and have found her feedback to be very helpful.
