I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 5 years of experience providing therapy. I specialize in trauma as a Clinical Complex Trauma Therapist and Trauma educator. I use body-oriented therapy to help you work through trauma. Body-oriented therapy provides a more holistic approach as it integrates the mind and body connection to address trauma. Focus on the body is essential because traumatic experiences cause us to live in a state of survival-mode where we interpret much of life through the lens of our traumatic past constantly assessing for threats and employing defenses. These defenses become patterns and are often overwhelming physical sensations. Body-centered trauma work is about releasing old patterns and creating new patterns and experiences through sensory awareness. Centering the body places focus on the trauma effects experienced through perceived body sensations. Mindfulness can help you increase present moment awareness and provide opportunity for you to learn to alleviate distressing emotions and release trauma response patterns that were once adaptive but no longer serve you. Healing can happen anywhere. I'll help you become equipped with the skills and resources you need to foster your healing in any space you feel safe enough in to do so.
Additional areas of focus: Stress, Anxiety, LGBT, Grief, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Compassion fatigue, Communication Problems, Family Problems, Post-traumatic Stress, Self-Love, Sexual Assault and Abuse, Women's Issues

I feel like I’ve finally found the perfect therapist for me with Kristen! Her vibe is very peaceful & she is a great listener! I love the journal prompts she sends out on Sunday’s & she has truly helped me to tap into my own intuition with her style of therapy.

Kristen is very professional and has a variety of tools to help you. She is polite, patient, kind, and a good communicator. She is responsive and timely and everything you want from a therapist.

From the very first session, Kristen has created a safe space for me where my thoughts, my fears, and my questions were all invited to take a seat at the table with us. She remains optimistic, even when I'm not. She gives me great perspectives and gives me permission to remove the burden of guilt or responsibility I place on myself for other people's choices. She helps me to sort out my thoughts (because they're truly all over the place sometimes lol) and get to the root of my situations. She allows me to feel my feelings and speak my truths. I, actually, feel seen in my sessions with Kristen...and not because we're on video chat lol. Plus, she laughs at my jokes hahaha...and even when I had to take a break financially, she still checked in on me. She just cares. That's all anyone ever needs to get through that bad day or rough patch in life. Just someone to listen and care.

This woman is wonderful. She knows how to set up a safe and relaxed environment during sessions that really has allowed me to be more open than I have felt comfortable to in the past. I feel accepted and payed attention to during our sessions. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to connect with their mind and body
