About me

Hello! My name is Kristin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina with over ten years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked in a wide range of therapeutic settings including: individual and group outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient therapy with community-based interventions, and treatment teams serving individuals with co-occurring disorders. I currently also serve as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). I graduated from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte in 2013 with my MA in Counseling and have enjoyed working with a variety of individuals since.

My approach to therapy is client-centered, trauma-informed and humanistic: I believe each individual has their own unique set of strengths, abilities, and experiences which are equally valuable. I also believe that each individual deserves a safe and non-judgmental space to explore ideas about themselves and how they fit in the world (unconditional positive regard). My hope in working with you is that I can support you through your own process of self-discovery and improved self-efficacy (knowing you are capable of healing and working towards your goals).

My therapeutic style draws from several different treatment modalities, which I use interchangeably to meet your needs. These include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. Each of these modalities offers strategies we can use together to help you identify your own personal values, hope and motivation, as well as assist you in learning ways to challenge the inner beliefs and dialogue that may be acting as barriers to your self-esteem and confidence.

Let me know if you have any questions. Finding a counselor you feel connected with is important.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Kristin Meadows. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I've never encountered a professional therapist who has been as approachable and easy to connect with as Kristin. She strikes the perfect balance between feeling like a supportive friend and someone who challenges me to navigate and understand various situations. Kristin provides valuable professional insights into my current struggles, and her unwavering presence has been a tremendous support during tough times. What stands out is her genuine passion for her work, evident in her proactive approach of sharing relevant article references related to our sessions. Kristin's flexibility and understanding, especially when I may not be able to fully engage in a session, further enhance the positive therapeutic experience. I can't speak highly enough about her, and I hope my recommendation helps others in their search for a therapist.

Kristin has been so great. I have worked with a handful of therapists over the years and Kristin has been the one I connected with the most. I really appreciate her notes/memory on things we discussed in the past and how she can often relate them to what I am feeling now. Very grateful!

I think anyone would be lucky to have Kristin as a therapist. She’s been a great comfort to me and the best therapist I’ve had.
