About me

I have a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology and a master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with the State of Maryland and Licensed Clinical Professional (LPC) with the District of Columbia.
I am equipped with 10 years’ experience in the mental health field and qualified to provide mental health therapeutic services in school, residential, hospital and community-based settings, which require expertise in clinical psychology, treatment planning, and case management. Organized, experienced, dedicated, and utilize a client centered approach. I have an eclectic background and range of skills in counseling. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and motivational interviewing to encourage and inspire individuals to be their BEST self. Ability to aide families in identifying the areas of instability within their lives while altering their psyche so that they can reach their highest potential as families and as individuals. Promote healthy living from a holistic standpoint-mind, body and spirit, in order to bring the best in clients. I will tailor our treatment plan and communication to meet the unique and specific need of the individual and/or family.
I promote change and self-exploration in order to get a better sense of self and foundation of “who you are, where you are going and how are you planning to get there.” If you are ready to take that journey in making changes and becoming connected to yourself, I am here to be a support and give guidance when needed.

The sessions I had with Ms. Young were sooo helpful. The worksheets and breathing exercises made a world of difference for me during my anxiety attacks.
My thoughts are not racing anymore. I can slow my thoughts down and process them. I will recommend Ms. Young to several of my family members,
I feel so much better!!!!
Thanks

Kristin really listens when you speak, and doesn't bog down her replies with technical jargon. I appreciate the perspectives she offers while still making my feelings and views feel valid. She is very kind and I appreciate her guidance very much.
