About Me

Aloha! I have been practicing mental health counseling for 7 years. My experience has mostly been with forensic, adult & youth, and crisis clients. Much of my counseling experiences have been with depression, self-harm, bipolar disorder, LGBTQ+ issues, and anxiety. I take a client-centered/humanistic approach to counseling, understanding the bravery it takes to reach out for help. I am passionate about creating a safe place for you to share and be heard every session. I also value your feedback, so that I may consistently improve the quality of services I am providing you. I am also a current doctoral candidate, working on my PsyD.

My goal is to be nonjudgmental, empathetic, and helpful to you during this stage in your life. I consider our work to be a partnership and would love to join you on this journey. Sessions are light hearted and informal. Come as you are!

You can interact with me in whatever manner you are most comfortable. Currently I am only offering phone and text clients for the time being. Most of my availability is in the day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with evening hours on Tuesdays, HST. I check messages at least twice each day. Please understand that there are times where I have personal matters to attend to, which may mean you don't get an instant response. I assure you everyone hears a response and I will let you know if I'm signing off for the day.

I understand that trusting a provider is of utmost importance, and I would be honored if you enlisted my help during this difficult time in your life. Clients occasionally have difficulty finding a therapist who is a good fit for themselves, or have had a prior negative experience in therapy. I completely understand these experiences and aim to provide each client with a positive experience.

Ky is excellent. Nothing is off limits to talk about, the most judgement free space - I feel so heard and affirmed. So thankful for Dr. Romero!

Very relatable and understandable. She doesn’t push too much and asks very good questions to get the conversation going.

Kylee is a wonderful person, who’s easy to talk to, and very understanding and reassuring. I felt at ease in each of my sessions, and I never felt rushed to talk about anything until I was ready to approach the topic. They remembered little things in conversation which helped me loop my cluttered brain back into focus to the root issue, and responded quickly to any message I sent. Kylee has definitely made my perception of therapy swing back into a positve light, and I would recommend them to anyone going through a difficult time, questioning their gender or sexuality, or to just talk to about inner problems they feel awkward bringing up to close friends, as some topics can be.

She is so professional but not in a way that makes you uncomfortable. I like that she makes an effort to relate to you in an appropriate way that doesn’t make you feel like it’s disingenuous or inappropriate. I would highly recommend her.
