I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in New York and Florida. I have worked helping families for over 17 years. I have experience as a therapist working with a wide range of clients. It is my life purpose to help individuals and families that are having a rough time. It can be very difficult and at times awkward to start therapy. I totally understand and want to assure you that I am here to support you through this time. My approach is very supportive and genuine. I try my best to create a safe and inviting atmosphere where you can feel comfortable to share whatever struggles you are having. Many of my clients struggle with depression, anxiety, parent child conflicts, self-harm, mood issues and more. I am particularly invested in helping people of color remove the stigma of seeking therapy. I am a Christian and will be sensitive to your faith. I believe that God gave me the gift of listening, patience, humility, kindness and compassion. I use a variety of therapeutic methods including cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness therapy, solution focused therapy and motivational interviewing.
I have experience working across the entire life span. However, much of my practice has been dedicated to working with adolescent, young adults and parents. I absolutely love working with all teenage girls from diverse cultures. I am a sounding board for all the developmental and mental health issues associated with this age group. I encourage parents to be active in our sessions to learn new strategies and coping techniques to improve the mother daughter relationship. If you need support with difficult family issues and want a compassionate and culturally aware therapist, I am here for you.
