Hello! My name is Latonia Jennings and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I also have a MA in Psychology and am certified as an Education Specialist. I have worked as a professional Social Worker for over 20 years in various fields including child welfare, couples counseling, military veterans issues, substance abuse, criminal justice, domestic violence, and bereavement. As a clinician for approximately 6 years, most of my work has been with grief and loss, couples counseling, domestic violence, and life issues. I believe that good clinical social work is not only compassionate and encouraging, helpful and goal oriented, but also educational. You should not leave a clinical experience just feeling better about your current issue. You should leave with confidence that you have gained new knowledge and skills to help you with future challenges as well.
I also believe that individuals are their own experts in what they need. My experience as a clinician has taught me that people have an innate ability to overcome life's challenges on their own; they just need a little help sometimes figuring out how. My favorite quote is: a bend in the road is not the end of the road unless you don't negotiate the turn. You might be feeling like you are at the end of the road right now. I see myself as a co-pilot on your journey of self helping you to navigate the tough terrain and negotiate the turns in order to get back on track.
I consider myself to be quite eclectic in my approach to clinical social work. I typically incorporate elements of solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy into my work with clients, as I have found these two approaches, or a combination thereof, to be most effective with a broad range of mental health concerns. Depending on the goals you identify and my professional expertise, I will select the best approach for you, educate you on the approach, and make adjustments as needed to ensure the best possible outcome for you.
Thank you for taking the time to review this profile. I hope I have an opportunity to work with you but if not, I wish you the best of luck finding the right clinician to help you in your journey. Be well.

Latonia Jennings is a very understanding therapist and has helped me with ways to deal with my issues.
She’s helped me work through so much and her advice has really started changing my life for the better. She helps me see things through others perspectives when I’m being a bit stubborn. Equally important, even in those moments, she still validates my feelings while helping me see a fuller picture and helps guide me through it. I’m very thankful for Latonia.
Latonia has a balance of firmness and gentleness that really works for me. She's an extremely good listener, open to holding all of the things I'm carrying and helping me to navigate and work through them, all the while helping me to honor my feelings and try to get to the root of it. I highly recommend her for all her care and expertise, I'm genuinely grateful that I found a therapist that works so well for me.
Since working with Latonia, I have made major progress in sorting out my journey with grief. She is attentive, empathetic and knowledgeable of clinical practices and exercises that lead to powerful connections and breakthroughs. I would highly recommend Latonia as a therapist!
Latonia has actually been amazing. She listened carefully to my issues and gave a thorough explanation of what was happening with me and why, which is something other therapy attempts haven't done. I feel so much lighter than I did before speaking with her the past weeks and I honestly think I'd still be stuck if I hadn't spoken to her.
I highly appreciate all the work she's done with me and will miss chatting with her; It's nice knowing she's still around if needed.
Thank you Latonia, you've been amazing <3
Ms. Jennings is insightful and appropriately compassionate. She has been a HUGE help to mirror my thoughts and feelings so that I can “hear myself”, and she offers suggestions toward practical application.
Latonia is an excellent counsellor. She has been so supportive in helping me deal with my trauma and providing me with useful activities to do so. Highly recommend
Latonia understands my situation and my feelings even when I struggle to properly communicate. She never pushes, but just encourages and always gives me something to think about whilst making me feel more confident and at ease.
When I first reached out for help I was scared, I had never done therapy before, but I am so extremely thankful for having met Latonia. She is everything I hoped my counselor would be. She is attentive and always checking in on me. We have built a great rapport and I feel confident and secure in our relationship.
Latonia is an amazing woman, she truly listens to me and provides practical guidance to help me stay on track in my life.
