Laura Fontanet
About me
You may be coming to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure about aspects of your relationships, sexuality or emotional life. Perhaps you’re navigating challenges around intimacy, identity, substance use or past experiences that continue to affect you. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space where we can explore what’s going on for you at your own pace.
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, registered with the BACP, with over five years of practice. I support individuals facing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and complex relationship dynamics. I also have a particular focus on sexuality, intimacy and LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy.
I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected and able to be yourself without fear of judgement. I aim to offer a warm, collaborative and culturally sensitive space where we can explore your experiences with curiosity and care.
Together, we can work towards greater self-awareness, emotional clarity and more fulfilling ways of relating to yourself and others.
My approach is grounded in Person-Centred and Gestalt therapy, meaning I focus on building a genuine, supportive relationship where you feel heard and understood. Alongside this, I integrate trauma-informed, psychosexual and relational perspectives, as well as elements from CBT, mindfulness and attachment-based approaches, to help make sense of patterns, emotions and behaviours that may feel confusing or difficult.
As an online therapist, I offer a flexible and accessible space where you can engage in therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable. I aim to provide a consistent, supportive presence where you feel heard, understood and respected.
I am currently training as a Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist and am a Student Member of CORST. I have also completed advanced training in Gestalt Counselling and am a Registered Member of the BACP, working in line with their ethical framework.

Laura is incredibly sensitive and respectful every time we meet. I am so appreciative of the sympathy and understanding she provides; she helps me consider aspects of my behaviour and feelings that I've never explored before. She also guides our sessions in a way that does not inhibit what is shared while steering them to new areas to explore.
