Clients often seek out therapy because they are experiencing significant discomfort in their lives. I feel that this discomfort is often a healthy way of letting us know that we may be open to change. Change begins with recognizing our patterns of behaving and relating to others in our lives, and examining patterns of behavior that may not be in our best interest. I think this is best done in a caring and encouraging environment where the client feels heard, respected, and understood. I strive to be client focused and responsive to my client's changing needs during the process.
In my twenty three years of practice, I bring experience in working in many areas including, family and relationship issues, anxiety, coping with stress, divorce, self esteem and parenting issues. I use a variety of approaches that include mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy.
While it may be difficult to find the right therapist to work with at first, I find my warm, empathetic, friendly, straight forward approach helps my clients to work through issues and find peace and purpose within their lives.
