Laura Husband

About Me

I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker and clinical supervisor with nearly 10 years experience in community mental health settings. Most of my experience has been with those in some type of crisis including suicidal thoughts, self harm behaviors, and debilitating emotional difficulties. I have worked with a wide variety of symptoms and diagnoses including those struggling with depression, anxiety, self harm, anger management, parenting difficulties, stress, family and relationship conflicts. In addition, most of the people I have worked with have experienced some type of trauma including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse/assault.

I am a very compassionate, person centered, and trauma informed clinician and believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most influential aspect of involvement in counseling. I use a combination of motivational interviewing, solution focused techniques, CBT, and mindfulness techniques to offer support, identify and work toward the most desired areas of growth and to provide proven and effective techniques to provide relief and lasting change.

I believe that crisis can provide the most opportunity for change. I would be honored to work with you and journey toward a brighter and more fulfilled future.

Written by K.R. on Sep 06, 2019 after counseling with Laura for 2 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, parenting issues, self esteem, career difficulties, coping with life changes, and adhd

Quite frankly, I was initially hesitant to seek any form of counselling. And I was especially nervous when I first matched with Laura because I did not know what to expect. Fortunately, Laura not only help me through each of the life struggles I have been dealing with over the past months but the frequency of my anxiety has reduced significantly. Prior to therapy with Laura I was always very anxious and had a hard time dealing with my thoughts and emotions. But Laura always offered incredible emotional support, listened thoroughly and helped me work on better approaches to what I had been struggling with. Additionally, I would highly recommend Laura and/or Betterhelp to anyone who is seeking counseling.
