About Me

*Please note: During Covid-19 crisis I will accept new clients only for weekend sessions. I am a licensed clinical social worker in California, diving into my 5th year of clinical work and therapy. I have worked with clients with a wide range of symptoms including depression, anxiety, mood lability, anger management, substance abuse, thought disorders, relationship issues and grief. I have extensive experience working with people who have experienced trauma and abuse. I have worked in a community inpatient psychiatric hospital, state prisons, and now work with veterans at a VA hospital.

My counseling approach is warm and helpful. I believe it is important to build a rapport with my clients and demonstrate respect, empathy and encouragement. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy, and often take a psychodynamic approach to my work. Each client I see has different needs, therefore each treatment plan can take a different path.

It takes courage to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you! (Please note: I see clients in the evenings after 5pm, and am hoping to take on more weekend clients as well!)

I’m really glad to have found Laura. She is easy to talk to and is a great active listener. She was thoughtful about my ideas and brought really helpful insights back to me from what I was feeling. She also took the time to get a really thorough picture of where I’m coming from before beginning to offer guidance. I’m looking forward to working with her more. Thanks, Laura!

I’ve worked with a number of therapist before and Laura is one of the few who really got me. She took the time to figure out what I was looking for in a therapist and met me needs without being too passive or too aggressive. I’d highly recommend her to any of my friends. Thank you Laura!

Laura was very helpful, available and understanding of my situation. I think that she was very helpful and mindful with her suggestions. I appreciate that she took the time to work with me and provided helpful advice to get me on the right track. I am only pausing my care because I need to make certain choices to make sure that I am committed to getting better. Thank you Laura. I look forward to speaking again.
