About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker in South Dakota and Arizona with over 10 years of professional work experience. During that time, I've had the privilege of helping clients work through daily challenges such stress, anxiety, eating disorders, assertiveness, self esteem, confidence, life transitions, relational stressors, trauma, and depression.

I believe you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming whatever challenge(s) you may be facing. Together, we'll work on filling your toolbox with skills to assist you in achieving your goals. I am here to provide a safe, open, judgement free, and confidential space. We will go at your pace and address the challenge(s) that are most important to you.

Everyone is unique and has their own unique story. It would be an honor to work with you as you navigate yours. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support, listen and assist you in that process.

Just as stained glass windows get their beauty from putting together broken and reshaped pieces, I believe you can create something beautiful in your life. We'll work together reshaping, creating new, removing what no longer fits, and putting back the pieces you want in the next part of your journey.

It's easy to write a fluff review about a therapist, but I've seen over 10 in the last 5 years and pretty quickly discontinued therapy with them because of a variety of problems mostly revolving around me feeling pressured by my therapists, and the impression I got that they weren't interested in helping me in any practical ways. I can say that Laura is the first therapist I've had who doesn't pressure me, and she meets the handful of requests that I've always put forth to my therapists. She's accommodating and considerate, and I've made more progress with her that I have with any other therapist. I'm excited to say that once I'm finished with my work with Laura, I doubt I'll be looking for a new therapist ever again. It took a while but I am very glad I found Laura.

After only a couple visits with Laura, it is evident that she truly cares about the things that I am trying to work on. She has a way of putting things into perspective that allows me to understand my “issues” better. She is personable, helpful and so intelligent! I look forward to continuing my sessions with her.
