Laura Walker, LMHC
About me
Hi there! I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Indiana with over 7 years of experience working as therapist, both in a brick and mortar setting and virtual setting. I have worked with clients, including youth, adults and families, with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, parenting problems, and trauma. I also have experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Prior to becoming a therapist, I taught both middle and high school students for 5 years and was an elementary school counselor.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach will tailor to your specific needs, treatment plan, and goals. I have experience with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and person-centered counseling.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you!
I look forward to working with you soon!

Laura is the best, I've had a couple other therapists and I've never felt so heard or supported.

Laura Walker is one of the best therapist I’ve had and I’ve seen so many.
She has incredible empathy and kindness. I never feel judged, only supported. She is an amazing listener. And she has so many tools that are practical and have helped me navigate the darkest depths of my life.
She is also highly intuitive and always knows how to guide me to help myself and heal.
I am so grateful for Laura.

I have really enjoyed Laura’s approach to my mental health needs so far. She is a great listener, I love that she gives me direction too. I am new to seeking counsel for mental/emotional health so I was nervous about not knowing what to talk about. I have briefly experienced counseling sessions with a couple of other therapists and it was clear almost instantly that Laura was the therapist I was searching for. So far, there has not been any lack of leadership on her behalf to guid me in our discussions. She’s very knowledgeable on the human body and mind and seems to have good understanding why we have tendencies to behave the way we do. This is so important when implementing the proper behavioral therapy to someone. I wasn’t seeking just a listening ear, I was seeking guidance and advice for my daily mental battles. Laura has been a great fit for me and I’m so grateful for her :)
