About me

As a licensed therapist in Virginia with over 23 years of experience across diverse counseling settings, I help individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional well-being. My work focuses on supporting clients through depression, anxiety, relationship dynamics, major transitions, and personal growth.

I have extensive experience working with women, young adults, caregivers, and individuals facing midlife changes. I understand how isolating or overwhelming these seasons can feel—and I strive to offer a space where you don’t have to go through them alone.

My therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Together, we’ll work to deepen self-awareness, strengthen communication, and build resilience. I specialize in issues such as self-esteem, social anxiety, attachment patterns, and workplace stress.

In our sessions, you’ll find a safe and supportive environment to explore your emotions, heal from past experiences, and move toward meaningful transformation. Whether you're navigating relationship concerns, searching for purpose, or wanting to feel more connected to yourself and others—I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, insight, and professional care.

If you're ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to support you on your path toward healing and growth.

I am so grateful that I was matched with Laura! She has years of experience and it shows during our sessions. I truly feel that she understands the things that I want to work on and she provides a safe space for me to express my feelings.

As a guy who was resistent to therapy and completely unnecessary for someone who just knew how to pick themselves up and dust themselves off, I was entirely wrong. Laura has been great for me in some of the lowest parts of my life. She's taken me through struggles, sometimes day-by-day and I will absolutely recommend her any time that someone struggles with their mental health.

She has been extremely helpful in not only diagnosing me quickly with Avoidance Attachment, but also her approach in giving me the tools to overcome my dismissive tendencies in relationships (both platonic and intimate), but also is teaching me how to best utilize my past experiences to determine what’s right and wrong & allow me to find those better people in my life. Rather than projecting the same stereotypical view on all people & ultimately discard them with no just cause, other than my own confirmation bias drawn of them wrongfully.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Laura Walls, and she has truly been a great therapist for me. She creates a safe, supportive space where I can be open and honest without judgment. Laura has a way of listening that makes me feel heard and understood, while also gently challenging me to grow. Her insights are always thoughtful, and she offers practical tools that I can actually apply in my day-to-day life.

What I appreciate most is how genuine and compassionate she is. She truly cares about her clients’ well-being. Working with her has helped me gain clarity, develop healthier coping strategies, and feel more confident in myself. I’m very grateful for the progress I’ve made with her guidance and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a caring and effective therapist.
