About me

Hello! I am a licensed clinical therapist in Colorado. I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and have since become a licensed addiction therapist. I have experience working with adolescents, emerging adults, college students, elders, and individuals struggling with co-occurring mental health diagnoses and substance use disorder. I approach therapy from a humanistic developmental and structural lens and use a variety of modalities including EMDR, CBT, DBT, family systems, and ACT. My role as a therapist is to offer a safe space where you can process previous trauma and other life experiences that have made you who you are, and accompany you on a journey toward healing and self-discovery.

I am native to Colorado, and a wife and mother of two daughters. I enjoy walking my dogs, spending time with my girls, scrapbooking, photography and reading. I am an avid learner and love to nerd out on the newest research regarding what works in psychotherapy. I consider myself a social justice warrior and try to use my privilege to make a difference in the community concerning bias, discrimination, racism, inequality, and privilege.

Laura is knowledgeable, empathetic, caring and wise. I’ve appreciated her guidance through my midlife, heading toward empty nest and toxic parent issues. Highly recommend!

I have seen nearly 10 therapists and counselors in my lifetime. After years of feeling helpless from my depression and anxiety, Laura has helped me feel more confident and competent in only a month. I feel like I’m talking to a friend during our sessions, and I always leave with new strategies and tools to try to strengthen my mental health. I’m so glad that I started working with Laura - I truly feel better than ever (that’s quite the feat in 2020!) and I know that I can use the strategies I’ve learned to find my center of calm throughout my life. I absolutely would recommend Laura to anyone who is struggling with their mental health. I’m so lucky to have found her.

Laura is compassionate, attentive, and very easy to talk to. Her ability to gently challenge my stuck thinking or behavioral ruts is motivating. She’s clearly skilled at what she does, and I’m grateful to have been matched with her.
