About Me

I know asking for help is not always the easiest thing to do and I seek to honor the effort it takes to stretch, grow, change and open yourself up in order to reach out. I love working with families, couples and individuals alike. I am a well seasoned therapist with over 20 years of experience helping others with many and varied challenges in their lives. As a Family Therapist, I believe life is all about relationships and connection and this gives me a unique and valuable perspective most individual therapists may not have. I have experience helping people recover from trauma, deal with grief and loss and restore broken relationships. I specialize in helping clients work toward life balance, working from wherever they are to wherever they want to be. I am authentic, non-judgmental, honest, hilarious (or at least I think I am), and look forward to helping you on your journey.

I will be available to work with you on Monday through Friday (I take Saturdays and Sundays off) via live chat, asynchronous texting, phone or video. I currently live and travel in my small motorhome in the West and Southwest so my time zone may be a bit different than yours, which is often advantageous. I grew up in California (please don't hold that against me as I left as soon as I could) and I have lived in WI, UT, AZ, GA and Alaska (at the Top of the World in Barrow).

I look forward to speaking with you.

So far I’m having a pretty good experience. I have found therapy with Lauren very meaningful . I am going through a roller coaster of things and she is great at jumping around and responding to my chapter book messages . She also goes out of her way to reach out .. even though I know she’s doing her job , people that come to this need to feel cared for and I feel that with gestures like that .. highly recommend!

Lauren is the kind of therapist that hears what you’re saying and also hears the heart behind your words. She seems to pick up the subtle pieces of a sentence that leave me feeling heard and seen beyond what I put out myself.
Her advice and guidance has brought a lot of perspective and help to my life. I deeply value and look forward to talking to her each week as I make my way through past trauma or just a really hard week.

Lauren has been my life line, an anchor, who listens and helps me navigate life, without judgement. She helps me see more clearly, checks in on me, and is truly concerned for my growth and healing. She guides me with practical counsel that I can carry and apply throughout my days. I am grateful for her guidance, support and care!

I gave BetterHelp a try after being overwhelmed of finding a therapist again. Lauren has been integral in my shift towards a more positive outlook and towards developing healthier habits and life strategies. Her schedule is very flexible and she is shown that she’s willing to invest and take the time to understand.

It is such a relief just having a compassionate therapist to lean on. I feel free to express myself openly. I respect her guidance. Her education and experience are very important to me. I’m enjoying this journey with her. I needed her so much and am hopeful to not need her so much as we continue our conversations and I heal.

Lauren has been a great therapist for me over the last 5 months. I feel comfortable talking to her, she remembers the details in between sessions and has really helped me understand my thought process and take control of my mental health. She's also provided me with some useful tools to work with when I'm not feeling so great. We typically speak weekly and it's been invaluable.

Lauren is empathetic without judging. She makes you feel very comfortable and checks in periodically. She provides tactics to help instead of just being a listening ear. It’s clear that helping others is in her DNA. And she laughs at my jokes sometimes.. bonus is that her laugh is genuine.
