I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Masters in Counseling Psychology with a focus in Gender and Women's Studies along with intersectionality and creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people. As a Black Queer Woman, I feel it's important to be mindful to meet people where they are based on identity as related to mental health needs. I have experience working with concerns such as depression, anxiety, life changes, and attachment issues. I also have experience with teens, adults, couples, and queer People of Color. You are the driver in your process while I am here to help navigate. I'm excited to go on the journey with you.

I loved working with LaWanda McCants! She helped me a lot with my mental health.
Lawanda helped me get to the root of the issues I didn't know I had been battling since I was a small child so that I knew what to seek out from other sources. Since doing so with her advice and expertise I feel like I've unlocked the cheat code to life. I had been struggling so hard for so long that I didn't know any different. She helped me get to a place where I now feel like life is effortless. My financial situation unfortunately suddenly changed else I would continue counseling with her just because I enjoy her company. 10/10 would recommend this excellent example of a human being.
Lawanda is the best!! I recommend her to everyone and she’s a household name with anyone who knows me lol
Wanda is an excellent therapist. She has helped us tremendously throughout the past several months dealing with a range of issues and I would recommend her to any individual or couple seeking therapy.
Wanda is THE BEST. Her ability to listen, then question, then expand is unparalleled. I like to think of her as the navigator on the journey to my best self!
LaWanda is so easy to talk with! I feel completely comfortable to share the things that I am going through with no judgement.
I felt very comfortable after our first session and knew i could really talk to her
LaWanda takes the strain of therapy away by maintaining a casual and open conversation. I am thoroughly impressed.
I have only been able to have on session with another scheduled. Immediately LaWanda was warm and inviting and made it comfortable to talk to. Much different than my last 2 therapy sessions with my works EAP program.
LaWanda is so kind and understanding. She is extremely easy to talk to and makes me feel comfortable opening myself up. I also really appreciate the different ideas she gave me for moving forward in my mental health.
LaWanda has been great so far. We’ve only been working together for a short time but she her responses have been very thoughtful and helpful.
I've only had 2 sessions with LaWanda so far, but I can already tell that she is AMAZING. I love the way she uses humor in our sessions. I never thought therapy would make me laugh so much. She made my first go at counseling feel like I was just hanging out with a friend. I can't recommend LaWanda enough!
LaWanda makes you feel at ease and is a great listener. She is wonderful, cannot recommend her enough!
Wanda is wonderful to work with. She has provided me with the support and validation I need to accomplish my goals.
LaWanda is so friendly and really takes the time to get to know you. I really appreciate her relationship building approach. Knowing that your counselor understands who you are on a more personal level truly allows them to suggest the best approach for tackling your life’s challenges.
She’s awesome and super friendly! She made me feel super comfortable right off the back, im glad she’s my counselor.
