Leanne Glennon
About me
I am a BACP registered Therapist with experience of working with a wide range of presenting issues, including anxiety and depression. My approach to Therapy is underpinned by valuing and nurturing the therapeutic relationship; that means getting to know you and the issues you would like to work on. I can incorporate my training, skills and experience to TF-CBT and CBT, creative techniques emotion focused and talking therapies. All at relational depth, in a way you will find the most beneficial. My approach is one that fosters co-production to help you gain insight and solutions.
I offer both trauma informed and trauma focussed therapy - Trauma focussed work may be helpful for people who have experienced or witnessed specific traumatic events. I have significant experience of working with clients who have experienced sexual abuse and complex and traumatic bereavement. I am also experienced in working with Domestic abuse. I work in a way that utilises the three-phase model of trauma recovery, often based on Judith Herman's work, These phases are: Safety and Stabilisation, Remembrance and Trauma Processing, and Reconnection and Integration. This model emphasises that trauma recovery is not a aways a linear process and that clients may need to come back to these phases throughout the work. Trauma work starts with acknowledging and normalising how the brain and nervous system work. This approach can be applied to all manner of presenting issues, where appropriate.
I am also experienced in working with self-harm, and my MSc thesis looked at the experiences of therapists working with self-harm.
I believe that you are the expert of your life story and together we can uncover and enhance your unique strengths. I will help you to overcome challenges, valuing you and without judgement. At times therapy can be hard, and It takes courage to seek out a more contented and fulfilling life. I am here to support & empower throughout your journey.

I've had 2 sessions with Leanne so far and I've noticed a difference in how I feel after the sessions immediately. She's relatable and easy to talk to which is what I need at this moment in time.

Leanne gives advice which I am very confident with as she has experienced the same symptoms as me.

Leanne is the perfect match for me. She is honest, kind, funny, listens very very carefully, non judgmental and professional. She never interrupts and lets me “be”. Leanne contacted me a couple of hours after I had completed the better help form.
I have a long way to go but I know that Leanne will be with me every step of the way on this new journey. Thank you Leanne.

Leanne is absolutely wonderful, she is warm, understanding and non-judgemental.
Leanne is fantastically knowledgeable and well read when it comes to psychology and shares her insights with great articulation and an incredible sense of humour. It is a real pleasure to get to heal with her, she is a brilliant therapist and I always feel heard and understood. The space she holds is transformative, if you have the opportunity to work with her then I would highly recommend taking it.
