Leanne Taylor
About me
Hi, I'm Leanne an experienced, accredited counsellor and psychotherapist in the UK and a registered member of the British Association for counselling and psychotherapy.
The approach I use is the Person-Centred approach. This approach is based around the idea that every human being has an ingrained tendency to strive towards growth and wholeness. I am here to help you work towards that.
It can feel hard to reach out and talk those around you, maybe you don't want to worry them or you feel you would be a burden. Perhaps they try to understand but don't quite get it. This can make you feel really alone in it.
I am here to be an objective companion, to listen to you without judgement, to support you while you explore anything that can feel overwhelming, or scary, and to help you find those answers, or a better understanding of yourself, in a safe, confidential environment.
If you find it difficult to express what you are feeling, or you're feeling scared to open up to your experiences, we can do some creative art exercises to help you explore those in a way that may feel more comfortable to you. If you feel you would be interested in doing this, feel free to ask me in the session and we can incorporate them in your sessions.
During my training I volunteered working with young people and during the covid-19 lockdowns I volunteered as a counsellor with a local bereavement charity. I have also completed accredited practitioner training for infant and pregnancy loss, and subsequent pregnancy after loss.
As well as my private practice, I work with clients through employee assistance programmes and I also facilitate a personal development programme within the person-centred counselling diploma course at my local college. I have worked with clients who struggle with feelings of anxiety, depression, changes in their lives and those who may be feeling stuck, lost or trying to figure out who they are.
I want to meet you where you are and to really hear you in what you are experiencing and to support you in your process.
