About me

First of all I would like to applaud you for taking the step to get support in bettering your life. Its ok to not be ok. It takes a strong person to take that step. I would like to help you get to where you need to be. I consider myself to be somewhat of a nontraditional counselor with versatile approaches to meet the needs of my clients.

Let me take this time to explain to you my therapeutic approach to counseling. Since receiving my counseling degree from Webster University in 2009, in addition to counseling I have also coached basketball and football for several years. In coaching you have to learn how to work with diverse populations and learn how to enhance the strengths and develop the weaknesses of your players. I take that same approach into the counseling setting. I consider myself to have an eclectic approach to counseling, meaning that I use various theories and techniques to fulfill the needs of the specific individual. I recognize that discussion of past behaviors or events is important, and there will be some time allotted to discuss those matters. To make our sessions the most productive, I plan to spend the majority of our time focusing on the here and now, and determining what steps we can take today to ensure that you have a better tomorrow

By forming a therapeutic alliance, I believe that together with the client, the necessary motivation needed can be encompassed to reach future goals and expectations. We will use some techniques from but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy, person centered therapy, and solution focused brief therapy, and motivational interviewing. I am experienced working with both youth and adult populations. Recently I have also began working with military and veteran populations as well. I have numerous years of experience working with at-risk youth as well as youth and adults from various backgrounds. I believe in meeting the person where they are and making gradual progress towards their goals. I am dedicated to helping you achieve a meaningful and impactful therapeutic transformation, to realize inherent potential and reach the highest goals. I look forward to working with you soon!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lenzy (O'dell) Graham. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

It was really hard work for me to open up and O'dell was very compassionate, and pushed me to do the hard work to get past the pain and anger I was feeling. It's not a small thing that he helped me with and it's made my life measurably better and easier. I had let things weigh me down for way too long and I really can't thank him enough for helping me.
