Leslie Mulligan, LCPC, LCMHC
About me
Hi there, Leslie here. I’ve been a clinical mental health provider in Maine (LCPC), Rhode Island, Wisconsin and North Carolina (LCMHP) for over 24 years. I help individuals ages 14-90, couples, families, and groups. As a military veteran/therapist, I focused care for service members and their loved ones, providing military combat and sexual trauma treatment for the last 10 years.
Keyed to your desired "better", I provide perspective, experience, effective strategies, and evidence-based resources from many sources. I help people experiencing mood instability; relationship and family problems; life, health, sleep and career changes, aging, death, bereavement; sexuality and spiritual challenges. Empowering people to be their unique selves is my core focus. People are unique, complex and innately able, if sometimes “stuck” or “off track”. Support for increased awareness, self- compassion and needed change are what I provide.
My counseling approach is warm, direct, creative and interactive. I value being human with respect, honesty and cultural sensitivity. I am a holistic, body-centered practitioner. Mind, body, heart, thought, spirit and life experiences all together give life quality and meaning.
My trauma-sensitive approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, mindfulness, wellness and art therapy tools. Our dialog, guided by your specific needs and goals, is to deepen your appreciation and enjoyment of your life, develop new strategies, empower your being.
If you seek an objective, non-judgemental therapist with wide experience to help you clarify this stage of your journey, my joy is to get you “there”. Let's connect soon and make it better for you.

Leslie Mulligan has "walked" with me through enormous life change for 9 months now. I see my progress, and my life blossoming before my eyes because she has been here, present with me on live session and via messaging. She has worked magic and has helped me SEE and KNOW my own, and believe me, it is vast.

Leslie and I have had 3 sessions.
And man... what a journey!
Her sympathy, intelligence, and wits make me feel seen, understood, supported, and most importantly provides an incredible sense of perspective that feels like a deep breath of fresh air.
Leslie’s style is friendly, warm, interactive, and metaphorical.
I highly recommend her to people like me who are self reflected and enthralled by the power of metaphors to understand emotions.
