About me
Hi, I'm Leslie White and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed in New Mexico. I help clients navigate transitional phase issues in life: moves, job changes, break-ups, communication breakdowns, retirement, marriage, divorce, parenting, empty nesting, change in career, loss of loved one or pet.
My focus is client-centered and humanistic and I tend to use modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviews, techniques I have found very useful when assisting clients with behavior change and transitional life phases. I also have 3 years of experience is the wellness setting, assisting clients to make changes to eating and exercise habits, sleep hygiene and managing stress and anxiety.
I also have 5 years of experience is sub-acute residential treatment care working with youth ages 4-20 and their families. I have helped families to address issues functioning in both home and school settings to help improve emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills.
I have specialized training in trauma-focused care and managing symptoms of OCD.
