About Me
Welcome! I'd like to tell you about myself and my practice so you have a good idea of what to expect throughout our work together.
Starting with my theoretical orientation: My practice is built upon the foundations of psychodynamic, object-relations, cognitive/behavioral, and systems theories. I believe that both personal and professional relationships and experiences shape the lens through which we view the world. In turn, the resulting thoughts, feelings, and behaviors shape our interactions - for good, bad, or somewhere in between.
Next, the models that guide my practice: I believe that every client is unique and presents with the ability to reach full potential. As such, I strive to identify and eliminate barriers to growth. This is made possible by a therapeutic relationship characterized by mutual trust, authenticity, and acceptance. I also believe that, regardless of experience, every client brings a unique skillset into therapy; my aim is to capitalize on existing strengths, introduce new techniques/approaches, cultivate intuition, and bolster confidence. Further, in order to foster healing and liberation from the long-term effects of power, privilege, and oppression, I emphasize the importance of critical consciousness, empowerment, and accountability as the building blocks of social justice.
Lastly, my style: My practice is characterized by a relational approach, which is empathic and attentive. Therapy has the potential to serve as a corrective relational experience, which I embrace. Further, I promote learning through discovery by encouraging clients to reframe and self-reflect. I also partner with clients to engage in cooperative learning, interactive processing, and mutual problem-solving.
I look forward to working together!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lillian Goodkind. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Lillian is kind and patient. She seems to really want to get at the problem that’s bothering me without pushing too hard. I’ve had therapists in the past who seemed to just say what they thought I wanted to hear, but Lillian is adept at making suggestions and providing feedback that is beneficial even if it’s not a direct support of my actions or opinions.
She's great
Wonderful! I cannot recommend her enough!
Lillian has been incredibly insightful and hasn’t hesitated to ask the hard questions that need to be asked. She’s also provided a safe, non-judgmental space for me to process different issues.
Lillian has helped and continues to help manage my anxiety. She is so easy to talk to and helps me keep self care a priority! I highly recommend her!
I have been talking to Lillian for only a couple weeks now, and I can already feel my brain working and potentially healing. So far she always responds in a timely manner, is very encouraging and engaging, and has even begun to challenge me to grow. I'm very thankful she was chosen as my therapist.
I’ve been seeing her for a few weeks. She is so easy to talk to and I don’t feel judged by her at all. She is very personable and just listens to me talk about whatever I feel like talking about that day. She is very attentive and awesome overall.
I have been working with Lillian for over six months and I must say she has been by far my best therapist through Better Help. She is very insightful and knowledgeable. She listens to what you have to say and helps you come up with a solid game plan on how to accomplish the goals you set for yourself. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist that can truely help you look at and resolve issues you may need help with.
She has been so helpful for me in such a transformative stage in my life. Very grateful to have her.
Lillian has helped me through so many major life events and minor life struggles. She always knows what I need and what is in my best interest.
Lillian is an awesome therapist, I've had a couple of therapist and none of them actually did they job or what they said they was going to do! She's the only therapist that's actually trying to help me fix my problems and tell me how to identify my feelings, pain, anger, etc. She's been helping me alot so when I see that someone is actually trying to help me I give that person my all so they don't feel like they're wasting they're time.
Lillian truly cares about her patients. She is passionate about what she does and is focused on ensuring her patients have what they need to work toward the goals that they set in place to make themselves better. I am so glad that I was connected with her as she is helping me in a way nobody else in my support network is able to.
My counselor is very understanding and helpful with supplying me with tools that will better help me with relationship with my husband and other people. I am very satisfied with my counselor
