About me

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, Lecturer and Supervisor on the BSc (hons) Counselling programme at the University of East London and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) with 13 years extensive experience of working with adults and children across the public, charitable and private sector. My aim is to provide an open, confidential and warm environment free of judgement to give clients an opportunity to reflect and move forward with hope and positivity.

Human potential never ceases to amaze me and provides an endless platform for learning. My experience within the mental health field has taught me human beings have an incredible capacity to survive both physical pain and emotional trauma. We all have an innate ability to adapt, accept and thrive.

I practice collaboratively, pluralistically and creatively, meaning I draw upon a range of therapy models (e.g. person-centred, existential, cognitive-behavioural therapy and psychodynamic) tailored specifically to the individual.

I offer a personalised flexible approach to helping you (pluralistic), that is based on the belief that my clients are experts on their own truth and lives (even if they don’t feel like it). I believe that we all have the resources within ourselves to deal with problems; one of my roles as a counsellor is to act as a navigator, and by remaining fluid to individual needs, mirroring and reflecting what I see and hear, I can help clients gain clarity so they are then able to make the best use of their inner understanding, experiences, and resources.

Life problems are often complex, and multi-layered, making it very difficult to attempt to work through them alone. What can happen is that all the different layers can become entangled, and one of the ways counselling/psychotherapy may help, is to work through issues step-by-step. As your therapist I can work collaboratively with you to disentangle the various layers of the problem and help you to decide where to start. I will do this by helping you to identify your goals, and then through a decision making and a reflective re-evaluation process, we can together find ways of fulfilling your goals.

My aim is to respond to your individual needs as flexibly and empathically as possible. Human uniqueness means that what might be helpful to one person may not be so helpful to another, and what may be helpful at the start of therapy may no longer be helpful at the end. Some people find expressing their feelings (anger, fear, sadness) most helpful in therapy, whereas others might find using therapy to rationally ‘talk through’ their problems more beneficial. It is my job to remain aligned with your needs.

Counselling and Psychotherapy provide a unique opportunity for you to focus and reflect on your life narrative and find more fulfilling and satisfying ways of living. Making the first positive steps towards change takes a great deal of courage and you have made that step by seeking support.

You are not alone. The world is constantly moving, and nothing stays the same forever. Things can and will get better.

I want to thank you for visiting my profile and showing interest in the service I provide. I hope you will decide to take the next step by making contact to ask any questions you may have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I’ve just begun therapy with Lily, but I think I have struck gold. She’s a great listener and always manages to give me a more compassionate, kinder and less destructive way forward. I’m so pleased I found her.

I've started my journey with Lily, and she has been incredibly kind and supportive. I feel safe to speak on subjects that before I may have shied away from. She creates a calm space, in which we can explore together, whilst also giving structure. Thank you Lily.

I have been working with Lily for months now and she has been very supportive! The best thing about Lily is that she ACTUALLY CARES! I have searched for compassion and understanding for quite a few years and was so glad to finally find it here on BetterHelp. I cannot recommend her enough!

Lily has provided a safe space and invaluable support which has enabled me to process my trauma and come to peace with who I am and want to be. Her recommendations in literature and worksheets has always been spot on and she has a thorough understanding of various types of therapy which allowed me to find the one that worked for me. I can highly recommend Lily as a therapist.

Lily is an exceptional therapist and an active listener and after having sessions for two months, I'm already learning how to feel more grounded as she has helped me with a diverse set of issues and trauma. She also provides a variety of worksheets to help me during the week and helps me understand issues from another perspective. I feel really positive being able to share comfortably with a therapist and also knowing what I can work on next after our sessions. In the meantime, I look forward to our upcoming sessions. Thank you! :)
