Hi there. Thank you for being curious about my profile. I appreciate the difficulty involved in reaching out for help and support.
I lived in Rhode Island and had a therapy practice in Bristol, RI for years. I relocated to Salem, New Hampshire about 3 years ago. I maintain my RI license and also hold a license in NH.
I have had a long career in human services and have had my own practice as a therapist for over 10 years. I am a mature therapist, both in years and experience.
My experience has been with individuals with anxiety, panic symptoms, fears and phobias, depression symptoms such as low motivation, family and relationship stress, and self-esteem and confidence issues.
My approach is first to establish trust with you, then to help you crystallize what you want to be different in your life. After you have that clarity, we will add tools to your toolbox that you can use to make the changes you desire.
I have a clinical supervisor with whom I discuss symptoms. I do not disclose any identifying information so as to protect confidentiality for my clients. Most clinicians have regular supervision and I feel it is necessary to have another professional's perspective, advice, and support as part of my career. When you sign the agreement to work with me you are agreeing to my continued professional relationship with my supervisor that may include discussing one or more of your symptoms. And you are also benefitting from another experienced clinician's advice. Unless I were to have a signed release from you, I am ethically prohibited from disclosing any personal information of yours that would identify you.
It’s not easy making changes in our lives, but I will give you the support, encouragement, strategies and feedback along the way that will make the process easier and more likely that you will succeed with your goals.

It would be nice if BetterHelp still allowed you to see openings in the schedule even when you have a session booked just in case you need to change it but don’t want to cancel if there are no other options. It would also be nice to have a “pay as you go” or pay by session option.

Linda is strong in her approach. She confidently conveys her message. She respects if I do not agree with one of her thoughts or questions. She is able to follow my systemic thinking. She accepts an answer when I give it to her. She respects when I am firm in my answer and seems as though she trusts that I will confidently call out my weaknesses.

Having Linda as my counselor has truly been a gift. She is so caring and kind. She guides me in a gentle way and asks questions that prompt me to think about what I can do to live a healthier and more fulfilled life. Linda helped me with career decisions and difficult work and personal issues. She helped me to grieve the loss of my mother, and to create mental space to finish writing a book about my mom after years of trying. With her guidance, I have modified daily activities that have improved my sleep and reduced my anxiety. I feel calmer and more grounded. I am now able to intentionally think about what is best for me. For instance, what I want the last third of my career and retirement to look like and begin planning for it. I am sad that I could not continue with Linda because she no longer sees clients who live in MA. I am so grateful to Linda and feel extremely fortunate to have had the past 8 months with her.

She has been especially supportive to me in one of the most difficult periods of my life. Linda has given me the techniques and skills necessary to live a happier life. If I had to describe her in one word, it would be: exceptional.
