About me

Hi! My name is Lindsay Van Gorder and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I have over 10 years of experience working as a counselor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, substance abuse, health issues, and other stressors. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. Much of my work history has been working with individuals who are living with HIV/AIDS, homeless, and within the LGBTQ community.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating people with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines person-centered, humanistic, and solution focused counseling. I am trained in EMDR and believe in the modality and utilize this approach in my care. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change and healing. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Lindsay Van Gorder. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I’ve been with Lindsay for over a year now, closer to two I believe. Not only is she always professional and kind, she always has insight or knowledge on any topic. Since I’ve been working with her, I’ve changed my life by leaps and bounds. She’s a beautiful person inside and out, and she has honestly helped me change the direction of my life. I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression from a very young age and for the first time in my life I feel hopeful that I have a happy life ahead of me. Lindsay is the best, and I highly recommend her. There’s nothing you could tell her that she wouldn’t use compassion and structure to help you.

Lindsay is simply the best, she has helped me and everyone in my life by showing me how to help and be better for others. She listens to me while challenging me and I don’t know where I’d be without her.

Lindsay listens intently, and the tools she has taught me to stay in my window of tolerance has helped immensely. I am also able to set healthy boundaries and know my self worth much better.

Lindsey is a true expert in her field. She truely understands the human mind both from a psychological and neurological point. Armed with all this knowledge she's able to implement thereputic techniques that work both to regulate the nervous system and support healing. The best part is she is very compassionate.

Since day 1, Lindsay Crum has been fantastic. She takes the approach that's most helpful for me, which is providing structure and sharing lots of resources. When I just need to rebalance or get rid of negative thoughts - she knows exactly what to do to help calm me. She's fantastic and I am so fortunate that we have met on BetterHelp. She's drastically helped improve my life.
