About Me

My name is Lisa Arce and I am a licensed therapist located in San Antonio, Texas. I have my Bachelors of Art in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

I am passionate in helping individual adults, and couples gain the tools they need to become empowered and accomplish their goals in a safe and confidential environment. As a counselor, I believe that you are the master of your own story and you can choose where to go and what to leave behind. I believe in the power of choice and together we can explore how you would like to live your life and problem solve any obstacles you may be encountering.I utilize an integrative, holistic approach that incorporates a variety of techniques and concepts. I primarily provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a person-centered approach and narrative therapy techniques.

Often times we find ourselves beating ourselves up, believing we should be able to solve our own problems. Starting that never ending cycle of negative thinking "What's wrong with me" ?!?! Seeking professional help is a bold, compassionate and smart decision. It takes self-awareness, work and commitment. It means confronting challenges and working to overcome them.If you want to to work hard and to let go of your false ego that screams at you “you can’t”. I can help! Let's work on learning how to see challenges and obstacles as goals now, instead of impossibilities. I am excited to bring new perspectives and counseling approaches to help you in beginning your journey to living a more balanced and holistic lifestyle.

Lisa is an incredible counselor. Her style is great, and she provided me with a handful of tools that I can apply in everyday life and professional situations. Besides the weekly sessions, she provides you with extra material so I easily worked on myself for appx. 3-4 hours a week. Great counselor, great experience, really thankful for how engaging and focused our work together was. Thank you!

Lisa is really understanding with me and my issues. I can talk openly and also occasionally repeat myself without feeling overbearing or like a burden. So far I already notice a more positive thinking pattern after only a few weeks of counseling. Lisa has given me different tools to understand me and my thinking better and navigate both in a more positive way.

From day one of using BetterHelp, Lisa has been so beneficial and really a key person in helping me get to where I’m at today. I thought I’d need years of counseling, but really after 3 weeks so far, I can tell a huge difference in myself and my life. I owe that to myself for doing the work, but also, Lisa for all of the tools, information, insight, and really just being someone to listen when I so badly needed someone. I am forever grateful to her and this experience. I could tell just from my first chat session that she was a great fit for me and had the professional experience. She is very easy to talk to and take advice from. I was always able to send a message to her when needed outside of my video sessions. You can tell she has a passion in helping others and I’d highly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist.
