Greetings,
My name is Dr. Lisa Cook, LPCC. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of Kentucky and a Certified Professional Life Coach. I have worked in the behavioral health field for over 20 years, and my expertise is related to working with individuals that experience hardships such as abuse (i.e., Sexual, spiritual, racism-related), life adjustments/changes, relationship problems (i.e., mother/daughter, siblings, friendships, romantic), codependency, and as well as symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder. I specialize in working with youth and women with trauma, emotional issues, and post-traumatic growth.
My therapeutic style is welcoming and interactive. My beliefs are that everyone has strengths and deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach includes cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, trauma-informed therapy and person-centered counseling. I believe that my clients are the expert in their lives and leader in their recovery, while I assist and guide you through a reflective process to unlock how the past could be impacting your present life, interpersonal relationships, and healing. I will tailor our work together to meet your individual’s needs and support forward movement at your pace that can allow you to show up each day as your best and truest self.
My focus is to inspire individuals to discover their authentic voice, honor it, which may have been lost or misplaced through life’s traumas and circumstances, and to empower them to trust their vision and use their power to heal the inner child and to reclaim life on their terms.
It takes courage to seek change and take steps to bring a life of fulfillment and joy. If you are ready to take that step; I am here to support you on this journey as your counselor.
